2015-2019 "Go Solar at Home" Pilot Project (Complete)

Why is PSA organizing this project?
Like our earlier Solarize Plano Projects, this project is being done in collaboration with the City of Plano’s Live Green in Plano initiatives. The primary goal of the project is to connect homeowners (and small businesses with rooftops) who are thinking about, or ready to install solar, with local area solar installers.

Does PSA make or collect money on the project?
No. We are grassroots volunteer group and have no financial connections to the project.

How do I know that the solar installers participating in this pilot project are good companies?
Plano Solar Advocates requires that participating companies are enrolled in the Oncor solar incentive programs.  Additionally, most companies will have participated in prior screening as part of our earlier Solarize Plano Projects.

Where can I learn more about rooftop solar?
Please check out our Plano Solar Advocates FAQ.

2014 Solarize Plano Project - PROJECT COMPLETED

Why is PSA organizing this Solarize "group purchase" project?
To accelerate the adoption of solar energy for electricity generation in Plano.

Does PSA make money on the project?
No. We are grassroots volunteer group and have no financial connections to the project.

If I enroll in the Solarize project am I committing to purchase?
No. When you enroll, we consider you made a commitment to learn about solar. It is completely up to you to decide to install solar PV and sign a contract with the selected company.

How is the solar installation company selected for the Solarize project?
PSA prepares a RFP (Request for Proposal) and encourages area solar installation companies to submit their proposals.  Selected project participants (RFP Review team) review those proposals and selects a company for the project.
